Creating encounters with augmented reality
Pumps displayed in digital mode
What is the best way to present complex products at a trade fair? With augmented reality. The pump and valve manufacturer KSB’s presence at IFAT is a prime example. It was conceived by UDG as lead agency, in cooperation with the customer and the booth constructor.
The goal of the new concept is to create a meeting space that focuses on the company’s outstanding products and makes them tangible – particularity with digital support. For example, those products include the best-selling Eta water pump, which is available in 43 sizes. It was flanked by an augmented reality app on an iPad that allowed visitors to take a look inside the industrial pump, inform themselves about its construction technique and function, and see the pump in action – offering real added value and an attraction for the target group, technology experts. All the exhibits were accompanied by iPads that made all the relevant background information easily accessible in a simple form. The applications were specifically developed for the trade fair for the water and sewage industry, where the new standard concept was revealed for the first time.
Short vector-animated videos allowed visitors to experience the services that KSB provides to its customers at a touch-screen terminal. For those interested, the terminal also offered all the additional essential information about the specific services. And for people who prefer to explore the world in a fun way, there was a virtually reality game focusing on waste water.
The trade fair concept was accompanied by the most extensive headline campaign in Germany to date, which was presented in large format at the KSB booth and in the surrounding area.
